IBM Global Services Australia
9 Brookhollow Avenue,
Norwest Business Park

Following a decision by Cathay Pacific Airways to outsource its data processing, IBM Global Services Australia leased the airline's Norwest Data Centre. A joint venture between IBM, Lend Lease and Telstra, IBMGSA is the largest provider of information technology services in Australia with 5,500 employees.

IBM relocated its Geoplex Command Centre to the Norwest site which now also serves other major clients such as Prudential Corporation and Mercantile Mutual. The Command Centre requires up to 100 staff per shift for its 24 hours per day, 365 days per year operations.

To ensure total control of design and security issues, Cathay Pacific Airways originally developed, commissioned and operated the benchmark $260 million international communications hub to run all of the airline's administration, international information systems, staff rosters and flight planning on a 24 hour basis.  The substantial surplus capacity of the building’s design made it attractive for the later lease to one of the major computer partners to the data centre project.
